Privacy Policy
Effective May 26, 2026
Project Sixty is built around one idea: helping you hold onto the moments that matter. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple because your trust matters more than legal cover.
1. Information We Collect
Videos you record. Videos are saved directly to your iPhone's Photos library. We do not upload your raw video files to our servers.
Commentary you add. When you speak a story over a video, your voice is transcribed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework. The resulting text — along with the structured tags we derive from it (people, themes, feelings, moments) — is stored in your account on Google Firebase.
Location data. If you grant location permission, we attach a general locality (city/region) to your commentary records. We never store precise GPS coordinates.
Usage information. We may collect basic diagnostic information (device type, iOS version, crash reports) to improve the App. This data does not identify you personally.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to provide and improve the features of Project Sixty:
- Search and discovery — your commentary is indexed so you can find videos by what was said, who was there, or how you felt.
- Films — your commentary is used to curate collections of videos around a theme or search query.
- AI processing — transcripts and structured tags are sent to Google Gemini to generate semantic search embeddings and Film titles. This processing happens in Google's cloud under their data protection agreements.
- On-device analysis — scene labels, audio events, and visual signals are processed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision and Sound Analysis frameworks. This data never leaves your phone.
We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not use your content for advertising.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to deliver the App's functionality:
- Google Firebase — stores your commentary records and account data. Firebase Privacy
- Google Gemini — processes commentary text to generate AI embeddings and Film metadata. Gemini API Terms
- Apple — on-device speech recognition and photo library access governed by Apple's frameworks.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your commentary data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which are protected by Google's enterprise-grade security infrastructure. Your videos remain on your device in your Photos library — we do not have access to them.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Choices and Rights
You are in control of your data:
- Delete commentary — you can delete any commentary record from within the App, which removes it from our servers.
- Delete videos — videos live in your Photos library; delete them there to remove them from your device.
- Location — you can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings without affecting other App features.
- Speech recognition — you can revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions in iOS Settings.
If you'd like to request export or deletion of all data associated with your account, contact us at hello@projectsixty.co and we will respond within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
Project Sixty is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. When we make material changes, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
